Octologo is originally the title of a collection made of eight maxims given in eight languages. It is in the light of the different poetic texts of the composer that the staging, the light and the stage design have been thought. The twelve scores collected under the title Octologo are part of the vocal works composed by Scelsi from 1970. [CD]
Six women in dresses made of sand on broken mirrors. From childhood, they have kept the essential questions intact. They are ageless. Out of their mouth comes a dislocated language from which one would have separated the rockery from the tender part: the stone’s breath and the murmur of the german lichen alternate with molten lava. The drama happens in a space where the human speech is not yet separated from its song. DNA, 1997
The staging of Octologo can be adapted for specific events, such as: performance in the exhibition of Richard Long - Capc of Bordeaux.
